Christmas in New Orleans Dec 2010
Today is Dec 27th and we have finally arrived in New Orleans after 14 hours of traveling in a car. We found our hotel which is called Wyndham Garden Hotel. Once we found the hotel we had a hard time finding a place to park so we could check in. After driving around the block several times we found a place to park across the street from the hotel. Hubby ran in and checked us in and got information on parking. There is a designated place to park for the hotel and you park your own car. The cost of parking is $20 a day which is added to your hotel bill. We went into the hotel and took our suitcases up to room #335. I started unpacking my suitcase while Marlon went back down and parked the car.
We were very excited to take off and venture around town. We were getting hungry since it was around 4:30pm when we left the hotel. Decided to take a trip down Bourbon St. which I have heard so much about. The street had lots of Christmas decorations which make it look so festive. As we moved on down Bourbon St. we found a place called Musical Legends Park. Right inside the entrance were 3 brass statue musicians and sign that stated Steamboat Willie and the jazz band play nightly. That put a smile on our faces as we could see them playing. This put a pep in our step as we walked over to find a place to sit. Marlon went and got us 2 nice hot cups of Irish Coffee, its only 40 F outside and the hot Irish coffee will taste so good. Our seats are in front of the heater so all is good. While sitting and sipping on our very strong Irish coffees some other people came over and joined us. Before we knew it there were several people in the heater area.
