Day 1

The Westin Monache Resort, Mammoth is ideally located in The Village at Mammoth and is just steps to restaurants, nightlife and the seasonally operated village gondola. The Resort sits amidst all the fun and outdoor activities that make Mammoth Mountain a spectacular year-round destination. Read on for the visits you should make!

During the winter months Mammoth Mountain’s skiing and snowboarding with an average of 400 inches of snow a year, 3,100 vertical feet and 3,500 acres of skiable terrain lives up to its name. A six minute ride on the express village gondola takes you to Canyon Lodge for ski/board rentals, ski school and high speed chairlifts to the slopes. A day of skiing/riding out of Canyon Lodge should include the Après Ski scene where live bands and DJ’s entertain on an outside deck until just after the lifts close. Afterwards, stop by the Village for great shopping, dining and nightlife. The Village hosts nightly movies by starlight and has outdoor gas log fireplaces so you can recite all the tall tales of day or roast your own s’mores.

Second Day

Your drive to Sledz will have you in the snow tubing park within 15 minutes, ready to be thrilled by a downhill tubing course designed to be as much fun for parents as it is for the kids. Or drive the same distance to enjoy a peaceful journey on cross country skis or snowshoes at the Tamarack Nordic Center. After, take a step back in time as you enter Tamarack Lodge for hot cocoa, homemade muffins and to relax and warm up by the large stone fireplace.

When you return to The Westin in Mammoth plan to “unwind” in the lobby where our Whitebark restaurant will recharge you with food and drink specialties and have the concierge arrange a Snowmobile Adventure into Mammoth’s backcountry or set you up with ski lift tickets and rentals for tomorrow at our in-resort ski rental shop. Of course the concierge can book dinner at one of the many fine restaurants nearby. Everything from steaks to seafood and some very good adventure dining options, like Rock Creek Lodge, will make your day complete.

Third Day

More snow sports await the guest from The Westin in Mammoth either on snowmobiles, dog sleds or more skiing and snowboarding at June Mountain in June Lake . June is just 25 minutes north of Mammoth and is not to be missed. Families love June’s wide open cruiser runs, perfect for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The Chalet Café serves breakfast and lunch, and sandwiches and soups are available at the “Stewpot Slim’s” day lodge at the base of Chair #7. Hollywood ’s actors and actresses discovered June Lake in the 1920’s and late in the day from the ski runs and chairlifts on June you’ll discover the spectacular views of Mono Lake and the Sierras which may be the perfect way to end a perfect day and a perfect stay.
