Many of you are expecting to read about our plans for our 44 mile hike but we've changed our mind. We are allowed to do that! :-) Since it was supposed to be stormy, we decided to wait until the guys can go with us but plans are still to hike the Maryland and WV portions of the App Trail this year.
So instead we are heading to Maine. Isn't it great to have friends that you can just hop in the car with and go to Maine on the drop of a dime. It was a promise we made, that we would always go on at least one road trip each year no matter how much money we had. I must admit we've snuck in a little extra this year. You've got to enjoy every moment because you only get that moment once.
I got to Haymarket, VA around 8pm and picked up Valaree. If you know me, you realize that I am horrible at estimating time and plan was to be at Valaree's by 6pm but I had lunch with the husband at Jone's and he wanted me to sign off on the Life Insurance Policies that we were just approved for before leaving. (not joking) We had supper at Don Pablo's and are now heading north tonight hoping to at least get past NY. We are currently on I-95 in Maryland bobbing our heads to The Beatles . . . "Dear Prudence" . . . Sure you'd love to see this on video!
Ohh well . . . nothing to exciting tonight or any pictures since we are spending the majority of our day in the truck. We did stop to get Valaree's birth control although I told her she didn't need it for this trip. LOL! She is going to kill me for putting that in here. You can be proud since we did remember to stop to get cash for the tolls. Our last trip a couple months ago, we didn't get any cash and it was soo late, that we just let them give us the ticket and mailed the toll as soon as we reached our hotel.
Nicole - - I did bring the book you gave me the other night and a bottle of Tequila. I am reading that book tonight and will pick out a drink for us to have as we sit in our Adirondack chairs on the bay the next few nights. Loved the note in the inside cover, just realized you personalized it! I'll share our choice in a future blog. Ohh favorite quote in the book so far is "The hard part about being a bartender is figuring out who is drunk and who is just stupid"-Richard Braunstein. That is also true for those of us that are not bartenders.
If you have anything you think we must do on our trip - suggest away. We have nothing planned and really just planned to go to Maine this afternoon.
We can see the lights of Baltimore in the distance against the purple sky . . . Until tommorrow . . .
