We work until 11;45 and leave at noon. 320 miles to St. Louis and with a stop to buy an I-pod touch at Sams we're on our way. Road construction makes it a 5 hour and 20 minute trip but we arrive at Busch Stadium without one wrong turn, this has got to be a record. My hapless team, the Astros are playing the mighty Cardinals, my boys team. However my team wins and we stay to the end. It takes us 30 minutes to get out but we leave St. Louis and arrive in Litchfield Il. without a hitch. We stay up too late getting pictures developed and downloaded and apps added to our electronics. Up early and a long day tomorrow.

I went thru all the pics, what a feeling that must have been to see Lincoln's resting place, to stand inside that room, WOW. Your boys are so very fortunate to see so many things.

What an incredible trip! The pictures were great. I had no idea Chicago had so many things to see, tours,etc. I know we will most likely never make this trip, but I really enjoyed seeing it, and would love to go.

Just a postscript to tell what happened to our reservations. Apparently the Kimpton group sent our confirmations that had us staying at the Allegro, not the Burnham as we had agreed on. This would have been all right but our local spam filter for whatever reason deleted the email before it got to us and left it in the junk depository that we never go to. Then we never checked on our confirmation to see why it hadn't got to us. So everyone was at fault, even us. I still don't know why it was spammed out on us.
