Trip summary
This was a great roadtrip! The weather was great, the roads were (mostly) in great condition, and the people and food were fantastic.
I would highly recommend Miz Zip's for anyone eating in Flagstaff. Good honest down-home cooking at very affordable prices. It was my breakfast stop every day of the trip!
There are lots of little towns along the historic Route 66 highway. I managed to hit Williams, Ash Fork, and Seligman. Each one had character and history. I especially enjoyed the Route 66 Museum in Ash Fork.
Also, if you get a chance, go a little off-road and you can find the original unmodified Route 66. I drove it and found an old fender skirt from a 40's/50's car and some other knick-knacks that some might find dorky and junky, but I loved!
Arcosanti was a little less interesting than I thought, but I'm still glad I saw it. We also hit wine tastings in Page Springs, which weren't on the list, and I'd recommend that if you enjoy wine.
