It is unreasonably long to get from Seattle to practically anywhere outside the US. But the nonstop to Paris is not too bad. But it's hard to get on another flight right away for 3+ hours. Usually if I fly to Europe from Seattle it's to Paris or Amsterdam and then from there a very quick flight (maybe 90 minutes) to my final destination. Alas, going to the easternmost part of Europe from the westernmost part of the U.S. means a lot of hours on a plane.

As two women we never felt unsafe in either Istanbul or Cappadocia. Some persistent vendors that were annoying but not threatening.
