Day 1 May 12th Arrived Milan at 8am, took the Malpensa Express EU11/single trip to Cadorna station and take metro to Wagner station, total travel time is no more than 1 hr. The daily unlimited ride for metro is EU3 or EU1/single trip. It was raining heavily and we had to drag our lugguage from the station to the hotel. Since it is too early for check-in, we left our lugguage in the hotel Marriott which is about 5-8mins walk from Wagner station on via Washington. It was a nice hotel mainly for business as I dont see a lot of tourist in ths hotel. Then we went out to have breakfast, our 1st meal in Milan, we had capuccino and croissants. There are many small cafes in Milan and you can stop by and get a cup of coffee... tastes really good and inexpensive, approx. 1.3-2.5Euro for a cappucino. After breakfast, we walked around the area for a while and headed back to the hotel to get refresh and some rest. We then took subway to Duomo, approx 15-20mins to start our shopping. You can find a lot of famous brand name stores within 3-5mins from the station. The Prada shop is a big one, you can also find Gucci, LV, etc... Prada is approx 30% off compared to HK price.
Right across the street is a supermarket, we bought our water and fruits. The 1L bottle water is cheap compared to what we pay for at the restaurant, it costs 20-30cents Euro per bottle (sparking or still) in the supermarket but it could cost you 5-6 Euro per bottle in the rest.
