Working with John Robshaw again was something I had hope for since I first produced a segment about the amazing textile designer several years ago. When I received the call from Travel Channel to do a profile on people who travel for work, John was the perfect choice, since he creates most of his textiles in the beautiful Indian city of Jaipur. The challenge was going to be the schedule though, as I had less than a week to capture John in action in his New York studio and showroom and at work in India. Booking the flight was easy since I was flying coach and there was only one affordable non-stop solution. I can think of better ways to spend 14 hours, but the flight was actually pleasant, with a nice vegetarian Indian meal and lots of in-flight movies to pass the time. And pass time I did, as I landed in Delhi exactly one day after I left Newark. The ride from the Delhi Airport into town isn't the most charming part of the trip, but you definitely get a sense for how jam packed this city of 20 million people is and it will get your ears primed for the constant blaring of car horns that forms the aural backdrop of New Delhi.
