Ariving to Munich

We arrived to Munich at 10:30am. We purchased 18 euro day pass for all transportation. After checking and relaxing for a while in our hotel we went to Oktoberfest. We didn't have any reservation but we made it before 4pm.
Why is so important to be there before 4pm? That is what I wanted to know. The answer is that all the reservations are made for 4:30 pm and if you are at the table which is reserved you will be asked to leave at 4 so they can set up the table. Of course everyone who is already in the tent is going to look for unreserved seats. So in order for you to get the seat you need to show up well before 4 so you can look for the seat when they are still available. This only applies for weekdays. Weekend is completely different story. You need to be there at the opening. That is my experience after visiting Theresienwiese 4 times during our stay in Munich.

Talk about this trip (1)
We just arrived back from Munich Sept 25 2009, I like what you have planned but I think if you are able to ride bikes then consider renting a bike for the day from the same Radius Tours in the Central Station. Munich is wholeheartedly designed for casual biking and judging by the number of bikes for local transportation, their sidewalks and roads have their own bike paths on each side of the road and at most intersections have their own bike/pedestrian traffic signals, touring the English Garden by bike allows you to explore the entire park (easily 4 hours non-stop)the beauty and design within the park is something to see that only a biking can provide in a relatively short amount of time. We popped out of the park on LeopoldStr. for a bite to eat amongst the locals then down to the Deutsches Museum. I would go back just to continue biking the city, I would also suggest the guided tour to Dachau by Radius, very informative and interesting having a local talk you through the entire tour, other than that Oktoberfest was something to behold, never experienced anything like that on such a large scale, we were a group of 2 so it was fairly easy to find seats in the tents, most enjoyed hanging out with the German people, they spoke enough English and were very friendly at the Weisen to make it fun
