Budget Travel to DC in 2009
I took Bolt Bus to Washington DC. This is the first time I took Bolt Bus. I first wanted to take Amtrak but then it was way too expensive. Then I decided to take the bus. Great bus. I love the free wifi and the power outlet at each seat. It's just too convenience. Except unexpected traffic, everything was great! I booked the M Street Renaissance Hotel. It's renovated and it's quite new. The room was a little bit smaller than I thought. But it's ok. We arrived around 3pm. First thing we needed to head for a quick lunch. The bus stop was so nearby the Chinatown. Then, we decided to walk to the hotel. It was actually a wrong decision. The hotel was on around 22nd street and we were at around 10th street, not talking about the avenues, it's far away. Weather was so hot and humid.. So we finally arrived to the hotel at 5pm. After we checked in, we went to Georgetown. This was the first time I went to Georgetown. To me, it was kind of like SoHo in NYC. There were a lot of shops and restaurants. It's a shopping district. It's not too far away from our hotel. After couple hours, we headed back to hotel. We ordered some take out from a Thai restaurant which was on M street. Food was good.
