Here we go! Our roadtrip from Vermont to Colorado is starting! It is 7 o'clock in the morning and we are up getting ready to start our trip. It is way to early for both us as we enjoy long sleeps in the mornings but we had to manage it to get up early somehow, if we want to see stuff:)).
Ready for the trip! I believe I have enough candy to keep me and my mouth busy for at least for a while and Darren has his Dunkin coffee (everybody is happy!).
We left the Vermont home exactly at 8:30 am, pretty good timing for us, hehe, heading to New York State towards Finger Lakes. I got this great book for Darren - "1000 places to see before you die" that gives you a list of great places to visit over the world and Finger Lakes, in New York State is one of the attractions that the book says you have to see. So, we went. We love to visit different wineries for wine tasting and this region is well known for it. We tasted couple good wines and had an enjoyable meal at the Belhurst Winery overlooking one of the Finger Lakes - Seneca Lake.
Great food and wine at the winery and Darren and me with the Seneca lake in the background.
Our final destination for today was the Niagara Falls. We stayed on the Canadian site and our hotel room was on the 29th floor with a stunning view on the falls and to our surprise we had a Jacuzzi in the bathroom!!! How awesome is that?!?! After settling down we went to explore the busy town and the Niagara Falls as well of course. Our hotel was on a hill and it was a quite a hike. We made a break on our walk and grab a bite at a near pizza restaurant with a bar right on the street. The pizza bread with the dipping sauce was just amazing! We explored the place till 1 am ending our trip in the Jacuzzi.
Darren in front of the casino we went too and getting close to Niagara falls.
Together in front of the falls and me hugging the Rainforest Cafe frog (Isn't she lovable-I mean the frog).
At the pizza place having a great pizza bread and couple Pina Coladas....yummy.
This was our first day of our roadtrip and it was a successful one. Tomorrow, next destination is expecting us in Pennsylvania and it is more artsy than you think. Can't wait for the next day to start!!!
