8/16/09 - 8 days prior to start. All hotel reservations are confirmed with exception of possible 9/2 stay someplace on the way back to south Jersey. Biltmore Estate tickets also reserved for Day 5, but Monticello, Dixie Stampede, Cherokee and caves are weather dependent at this time. Possible activities and restaurants are just grouped within the date ranges by areas we are staying. However, may only do some as National Park hiking/outdoor views time will be maxiimized.
9/03/09 - post-trip view! I'm filling out what we actually did and when per the schedule function on the trip plan. Items that are now unscheduled were not done due to time/place/weather circumstances. Please note that certain places are more than one day like Shenandoah and Smoky Mountains (+ hotels and BRPkwy). Saw alot! Much more to still see...! We were glad to get a glimpse...hope you enjoy too! If anything, we're going to do the Smokys again, but this time from Tennessee side...it appears closer to most things and better convenience with time. Beth and Chuck
The Fall trip would be spectacular too, Gilbert. Bring the lite-warm clothes for good hiking and view experience! $15 for a 3-day pass through Shenandoah NP on the Skyline Drive.... Blue Ridge Pkwy maybe less volatile in Fall. LOL...$5 yesteryear others...of course the Smoky's are still free!
it's like $5 for a car. at the national park in VA. It is well worth it. definitely check it out and also national chimneys in bridgewater,Va is free. that is a great place to go to hike as well.
