KevinB - we didn't visit the cliff dwellings because of the bad reviews: http://travel.yahoo.com/p-reviews-281657… I would visit the Garden of the Gods while you are there and walk up and down the town - there's tons of great little shops and restaurants! Have fun!!
We went to Colorado Springs Last week in July. I wish I had gotten on Yahoo Travel and read the reports about the Cliff Dwellings before we wasted our money on it. We did go to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo which was a big hit for a 3 yr old. We took the Cog up to the top of Pikes peak and enjoyed it greatly. Next time we will probably drive so we can have more time to explore. Enjoyed reading about your trip.
I do plan on spending a day or two in Colorado Springs. Any must sees? I was thinking the manitou springs cliff dwellings.
