We had to stay in Christchurch and wait for our luggage to show up. In the meantime, we went and got a prepaid cell phone with Vodaphone at a downtown shop. We killed some time just walking around Christchurch, which is lovely.
Once we got our luggage, we then drove to Akaroa. The scenery on the way was beautiful: rolling picturesque hillsides, lambs frolicking, and just when the views could not get any more postcard perfect, I spotted a tiny little creek near a flock of sheep where a duck and a line of baby ducks were swimming.
In Akaroa, we had dinner at Bully Hayes. Pricey, but very good food. He had Moroccan spiced lamb; I had bone-in ribeye. It was probably pricey because it was on the waterfront. Service was slower than expected, but not intolerable. Stayed at another Top 10 holiday park.
Thanks.
