New Journal Entry

So the fun part begins...planning.  I leave for Italy in 2 weeks and I am super excited, it will be my first time there.  When I come home, I want to really get to planning this backpacking trip for next summer.  I really want to see as much of Europe as possible, as I am off to grad school in the fall of 2010.  I graduate in December of this year, and my best friend graduates in May so we hittin the road!! If anyone has any suggestions as to where we should start, I'd appreciate any input.  I really want to see Ireland, but I've heard it is cheaper to fly into London.  Does anyone know how the travel works between Edinburgh and London?

Its cheap to fly into Dublin. If not, look at ryanair.com. It is super cheap to fly between London and Ireland.

idk much about the price of the tickets but i can say this try starting off in the smaller towns alot of those towns have family owned businesses which is good if u like that kind of stuff

go on a bike tour or rent a bike and make a self tour. its an amazing way to see the city including the more countryish areas around it. its also really flat so the biking is easy

tip for rome:make sure u stay close to termini station. its the starting point of pretty much everything. make sure u go on a bike tour in paris (http://fattirebiketours.com/paris)its the best way to see the city and if you can spare a day make sure u go to versailles. it was the highlight of my trip. breathtaking and having a bike helps as opposed to walking

p.s. if you want to go to amsterdam its only about an hour and a half by train from paris. all you need is 2 days in that crazy city. flying within europe is so cheap its almost free. check out ryanair.com they practically give away seats..u just pay for your luggage
