Tel Aviv to Haifa
April 26 2009
We have arrived in Israel after a 1-hour flight from Baton Rouge to Atlanta and a 5 hour wait, a seond security check and a twelve-hour flight that included 2 hot meals and two trips to the lavatory. It was pleasant enough, all the small children were wellbehaved, and the personal little TV had free movies and video games. We watched one of our usual TV shows and I played a favorite game. The flight attendant had us close the window, and didn't allow it to be opened until a hour or two before arrival. So we were not able to look out at France and Italy. On arrival, we picked up our luggage, went through Passport Check, walked right through Customs with the rest of the crowd, and Leo's sister-in-law H. met us in the outer part of the airport. After a bit of refreshment, she led us to the adjacent train stattion and accompanied us on the train to Haifa, where my brother-in-law R. picked us up and took us to their apartment. By then it was Sunday night. We adjusted our watches eight hours forward. I slept real well. Monday we plan to go to Megiddo and other places.
