The flight to Hobart via Melbourne was uneventful and we were met at the airport by Brad. It was a beautiful day and we headed for our accommodation with our trusty Tom Tom in hand. I had booked and apartment in Lindisfarne, a suburb on the eastern side of the Derwent only a 5 minute drive into the city. It was very nicely appointed with excellent views of the river and the Tasman Bridge. I would highly recommend it. I guess the only downside was that it was situated behind a service station and there was quite a bit of noise associated with traffic in the area.
After settling in we went for a drive into Hobart and a walk around the Salamanca area and the wharf precinct before heading out to the Shot Tower. We climbed all 318 steps of the tower and were rewarded with spectacular views of Hobart and the harbour - unfortunately forgot to take the camera with us so didn't get any photos from the top.
