New Journal Entry

From the minute we set this trip the 10 day weather forecast started to deteriorate.  From 60's and 70's to 60s and 40's.  But the trip looked like fun; and when we asked our friends they were all for going  So at 6:05  Friday a.m. we were on our way.  It took 6 hours to get to downtown Dallas and we hit the ground running.  Straight to Sonny Bryan's BBQ.  The food was good and the location gave us a start on our walking tour of downton.  First we went over to Founders Park and took pictures of the log cabin that looks a lot like the one our county is restoring. Then to the Old Red Courthouse, no time for tour.  Next was the John F. Kennedy Memorial and then a several block jaunt to Pioneer park.  Then a long hike to the Reunion Tower only to find that its temporarily closed. Finally back down the street to the 6th FlImageoor Museum for a great audio tour of the exhibits. This is a great and sobering place to go.  We walked down Elm Street and up the grassy knoll.  This was a great experience for both adults and kids.

Talk about this trip (5)
living there for 20 years - it is different to see it from someone else point of view. I like to visit very occassionally but would never live there again! Way too much concrete for me! Glad you enjoyed it! The aquarium and West End are awesome to explore in Dallas as well. Zoo is great too! Nancy

Glad it helped. We try to study up on what there is to do and then balance it against what we like to do, what we have time to do and what we can afford to do. And then as a family we decide what we can agree on doing.
