From the minute we set this trip the 10 day weather forecast started to deteriorate. From 60's and 70's to 60s and 40's. But the trip looked like fun; and when we asked our friends they were all for going So at 6:05 Friday a.m. we were on our way. It took 6 hours to get to downtown Dallas and we hit the ground running. Straight to Sonny Bryan's BBQ. The food was good and the location gave us a start on our walking tour of downton. First we went over to Founders Park and took pictures of the log cabin that looks a lot like the one our county is restoring. Then to the Old Red Courthouse, no time for tour. Next was the John F. Kennedy Memorial and then a several block jaunt to Pioneer park. Then a long hike to the Reunion Tower only to find that its temporarily closed. Finally back down the street to the 6th Floor Museum for a great audio tour of the exhibits. This is a great and sobering place to go. We walked down Elm Street and up the grassy knoll. This was a great experience for both adults and kids.
