Day One

Image
Ok so we left for the airport at 5:04 and got here in about an hour.. The parking was extremely easy and fast because we used the Fast Track thing. We got in the airport and had to check in and check our bags.. we couldn't figure it out at first but we did fast and it was also easy. Checking bags and going through the metal detectors went very smooth. We get to our waiting area and wait...about 45 mins into it they tell us our flight has been pushed back from 8:30 to 9:05pm. ImageOur flight landed at the airport at 9:05 but we had to wait til they unloaded the other passengers and clean the plane. We got on the plane very fast and easy. We got to our seats and waited on the plane for over an hour until we actually started to get off the ground. The flight was ok.. there was SOOOOO much turbulence though. For a first time flyer I was very excited when the plane started going fast for lift off, it felt like a roller coaster, but got sick when they turned the plane and the ground got further away on my side but the other side seemed so close. The turbulence was bad leaving the airport, in the middle of the flight and at the end of the flight. The food/drink services were delayed for a long time because we were all instructed to sit because of it. I don't think that the seat belt light was off for over 45 minutes out of the 6 hour flight. Unlike most others I had trouble sleeping on the plane because of the shaking. I slept about an hour and a half and then got interrupted by the captain telling us that we were 700 some miles away from vegas and the turbulence was going to get bad. If you are a first time flyer I recommend NOT looking at the wing during turbulence! It shakes so bad and scared me. Finally after 6 hours on the plane we finally made it to Las Vegas.Image Since it was 12:30am there the airport wasn't too busy. It was easy to get to our luggage and collect it all. We then proceeded outside where it was a freezing 50 degrees out but it was verrrrry windy. We got onto our bus and made our way to our hotel:Image Summer Bay Resorts. We were dropped off at the front gate and created by someone who directed us to the office.. which was a 5 minute walk away. They didn't help us with baggage and then we had to lug it up steps to get into the office. Once we were in the office they directed us to another office! Check in took too long for my liking. Usually check in is very fast but not here. This time they called someone to take us to our room which is in a building located about a 5+ minute walk away from the office. All 5 of us + 8 bags + Driver all loaded onto a golf cart. He drove us to the building took our luggage off the cart and instructed us to WALK up a flight of stairs with all our luggage. NO ELEVATORS HERE! So that was a disappointment. Once we got into our room we were created with an 82 degree room. Its a cozy place but still nice. We have 2 bedrooms, master bedroom has a master bath with a huge tub and shower and walk in closet, 1 other bath, a small dining area, a small kitchen, a cozy living room, and a balcony with a closet that is a laundry room with washer dryer and ironing board. It will do for the week I suppose =) I'm very excited about venturing out tomorrow and can't wait to see what we discover!

Talk about this trip (6)
haha trust me it was a long a tedious thing to do she took like 1500 pics of vegas in like 5 days. she viewed vegas throught the eye of a camera. i could count many times that i looked back looking for her and she was taking a pic. oh in case you didnt get the impression i was there. yes althoug there wasnt much too see it was a great joy to stand on the intersection that was a great change in the history of few lives, including my own. no nit picking involved but if you walked those couple miles to the palms just to find that the one thing you went to see wasnt there id have a commnent about it too, oh yeah i was there and it wasnt great to walk that far just to find oh another casino and to the thing you went for. 7 days wasnt enough and i could spend another trip there and still wanna go back. no regrets.

Well I'm sorry that I'm so late on responding to these comments. I thought that I would have got a notice that told me I had one but I never did so I just thought nobody commented haha. To the first comment: just like everyone else said no I was not knit picking I was just simply stating my likes and dislikes. I absolutely LOVED vegas and I can not wait to go back again. I'm actually planning another trip and I'm going to try and fit it in this year. I will definitely make sure to make another trip journal if I do get to go again. It's a long tedious thing to do with all the details and pictures but then when you get back home it's a great thing to have so you can relive those great memories =)

Thanks for sharing your trip. I always appreciate all the work that goes in to writing and posting the pictures. To the person above that made the comment about your knit picking, I didn't at all get that impression. In my opinion you were giving your honest account of your trip and what you did and didn't like which is exactly what people want to read. The person's advice above was not asked for so they need to keep it to themselfs!

This is to the person above that made this ridiculous comment. First of all, I didn't get the impression at all that she was knit picking anything. She is giving us her view of her experience. Nobody was asking for your advice so keep it to yourself.

Thanks for letting us into your experience at Vegas. Here is a little advise.... When you go out to a new place try not to net pick and just enjoy the beauty.
