We stayed at La Quinta Inn in New Haven, CT. The hotel was okay... good enough for one night. We woke up at 8:30am to take advantage of the free breakfast. The boys and I had wafels. Matt had cereal. We went back to our room and the three boys found a soccer match between South Africa and Spain (consolation prize for the confederation (??) tournament. Because of this, we did not leave for Yale until almost noon. Yale was beautiful.. a lot of old buildings with intricate detais. We took a few pictures and grabbed something for lunch. Cam and I went to Au Bon Pain and Cal and Dad got some burritos. We drove to NY, but since the US soccer game against Brazil started at 2pm, the boys decided to stop at the mall so that they can watch the game at Radio Shacks.. good for me, cuz I could do some more shopping. I found out that sale prices for clothes were better here in CT and MA than back home. I found some cute tops at the mall. We left New Haven area at about 4-ish... it was rather hot...the distance from New Haven to NY was less than 100 miles (??), however, once we got closer to NY, the traffic got worse. We dropped off the bags at the Hotel (Holiday Inn, Long Island City) and took the rental back. We then went to Empire State Building (had pizza to go while waiting in line). The wait was not to bad... and definitely worth it. The view
