Slide Rock State Park
Pink Jeep Tours
We took the rim tour. There is AAA discount (10%); if you have one, bring along. It will save you big bucks. Tour guy was great that he provided a lot of information from rocks to plants, from delicacy food to what not to eat. The ride was rough but we got used to it quickly. At the end of the trip, there is a short hike to the top and the view is outstanding. After this ride, I wish I had time to go for more like the most exciting trip, according to the tour guide, Broken Arrow. He said ther are 45 degree up and down in a Jeep. That ought ot be fun.
Chapel of the Holy Cross
A lof people going up the hills for the priviledge to find a parking space. We stayed in line for 15 minutes just to get to a point where we can turn around and leave. We were tight in time so we did not get in; however, based on the crowd and from outside, this must be a place that you can spend time, if your schedule allows.
Red Rock State Park
We were too late (arrived @ just before 4pm while the park closes @ 5pm). I wish we could get in. It seems to be lots of educational information and nice scenary.
Bigfoot Bar B Que
Do not go here if you bring your family with kids. It is located in the basement in a small office/mall type of building in downtown. Looking from outside, it seems like a small (without door). Based on people traveling, I just don't feel comfortable with kids around me.
