Day 1
Today our journey began at 5:15am in Jacksonville, FL. Everything went smoothly getting onto the plane and we were on our 3 hour flight to Houston. Started to get a little hungry on near the end of the flight but didn't quite have enough time to get anything to eat before boarding our next 8 hr flight to Honolulu. Make sure you bring some snacks and/or sleeping pills for any flight over 3 hours. The in-flight movies occupied some of our time though. We finally landed in Honolulu at about 4pm local time. I had a car reserved with Enterprise and it didn't take us long before we were on the road. After our drive of nearly an hour and a half to Turtle Bay Resort we were exhausted. Our accomodation of choice is a one bedroom condo with a kitchenette, living room, internet, a lanai(hawaiian for back porch), and pool access. On the way in we stopped by Sunset Beach to snap a few pics. We rested for a little while and then decided to go get something to eat before it got too late. We headed out toward Haleiwa to find some food. It was nearly 9 and almost everything was closed, although we did manage to find a small Thai for place that thus far has been the best food we have eaten yet. We new that we were not planning on get up very early to get breakfast so we stopped by a small grocery store called Foodland. We got some milk and cereal. I was a little sticker shocked when I saw that the cheapest gallon of milk with a discount card was $6. Oh well nothing you can do about it here. Afterwards we went back to the condo and crashed.
