We had drove and checked into out Hotel. They were very nice and had some great info on events going on about town and even offered us informaion on a free shutte that they ran to and from downtown if we were interested. The free shuttle is a great option if you don't want to pay for parking in the downtown Savannah. Anyway...we went into our room and were very surprised we were only paying like $50 a night on a deal we found on hotels.com and the room had a hair dryer, coffee maker, fridge, iron and ironing board, huge bed plenty of towels and was very clean. It was a nice sized room too! If you decide to stay there don't count on any romantic view's outside of your hotel room, trust me there isn't any. Other then that...great deal for it being only 3 miles outside of Downtown Savannah. Anyway, after getting comfy in our room we decided to head on off to downtown. We parked in a parking garage near W.congress. This was affordable and provided us easy walking to where ever we wanted to go to. We walked a few blocks down and went into Churchill's pub. This place is sooo great! it's the oldest pub in Savannah it was brought over piece by piece from London England in 1921. This is worth the visit! Great selections on Drinks and a Wonderul variety of imported DRAFT Beers and Cider!! Sooo yummy and the food is pritty good too! The staff is friendly and helpful. It was the perfect place to begin our trip. In fact...this place will be someplace that we will visit again the next time we go to Savannah.
Savannah is a wonderful old town! Much walking to do around the downtown area especially in the many beautiful park squares that they have all over town. in between you'll find many wonderful places to eat that consist of all different price ranges. If you like to have a drink they have pubs mixed in for your enjoyment. So pack your good walking shoes, stop in to shop at the many cute shops along the way and eat and drink to your hearts content. Its the perfect place for cuples! Many romantic walks and cute places to go and enjoy together.
My friends and I went to Tybee Island in search of some dolphins. It was a bit windy that day and the waves were rough so none to be found. I noticed that the water was warm as bath water. So different than the ocean in New England which never actually warms up much.
