Wednesday, November 19th. The movers are finished packing and are loading the truck.
We go to get the wire transfer for today's closing this morning at 9. The Fox Point building inspector comes by at 10 AM, judges us to be within compliance (yay!). We sell off our old dresser at 11 - too big to fit in the new place. By 1 PM, everything is ready to go. Down to sign the closing papers at 2:30, and by 4:00 we are the proud owners of a new home in Seattle (along with the one in Wisconsin). Next we went back to pick up Miranda from the Ellegards. A few teary good byes and we are on the road to Seattle!
Miranda is taking Flat Stanley and his brother Flat Arthur on this trip. So look forward to seeing pictures of them visiting all of the sites along the way.
First night stop is the Stoney Creek Inn in Onalaska (how is that pronounced?) WI. They have a serious northwoods theme going here, with wood motifs and stuffed bears everywhere. Pretty nice place, actually.
For the statistically inclined:
212 Miles
69.7 Mph
25.4 Mpg
Tomorrow we head for Mitchell and the World's only (imagine that) Corn Palace.
Why TWO Flat Stanleys?
Have Fun!

Love and luck
