Today we drove to Loudonville Ohio to Landoll's Mohican Castle. This hotel has a nice restaurant with a small giftshop, an indoor pool featuring a cave in the pool with water cascading down.
We arrived in time to take the 3:00 tour (free to guests). We saw each of the available suites. Also toured the grounds. There were a couple interesting cemetaries here and several trails. We got a trail map and walked one that ended at a corn field. Not like hiking in a national park, but still fun.
We had the Gale Suite which is the only suite with a 2 person whirlpool tub. Our room featured a view of the garden, moat, and waterfalls. It had a beautiful bed that we were told cost 10 thousand dollars. It had a sitting area in front of a fireplace with a stone hearth. It had a luxurious bathroom with a two person jacuzzi and separate shower, and heated Italian tile.
Had a nice dinner in the hotel restaurant. Went swimming in the pool.
I highly recommend Landoll's Mohican Castle, however, I would only plan one night there. There's not enough to do for a longer stay than that in my opinion.
