After work I headed to the airport and arrived at Miami around 10:30ish P.M. I was pretty bundled up with my jacket since being on the planes they are so cold! Once I got through the exit doors, I was hit with a wave of sticky, hot humidy. Apparently it doesn't cool off at night! I made my way the the Super Shuttle and a very nice lady arrainged for the driver to drop me off at the hotel. This was only $22 and much more easier and cheaper than going in a taxi and knowing god knows what they're going to charge you. They usually get the van filled up with people, ask you where you're going to go and take you there. My hotel was on Collins Avenue which is right in the heart of Miami Beach. I paid the driver and made my way into the hotel.
First thing I noticed when I walked into the hotel (Island House Beach House), no security! You just walk and heaven forbid if some stranger is around and you're door is open. The first door was the office and I was surprised there was a teenager there. He introduced himself as Sasha and I filled out the paperwork, ready to just hit the sack. Needless to say my room was very small but I didn't care--a bed, table, lamp, desk drawer, TV, etc. Next door to me was another hotel room and there was one bathroom that we all shared, kind of like a communial dorm. Weird, but at that point I didn't care. When I went into the bathroom--ick. The tiles of the tub were kinda old so I went in with flip-flops, the whole place looked like a very used college bathroom, it was clean but nothing interesting. By the time I got myself ready, it was time for bed, if I had more energy I would've ventured off but I was so tired and tomorrow would be a new day!
