Well!
First day of trip was tough getting started. Last minute errands to run before leaving. After leaving breakfast with Chris's dad, I became emotional about leaving Akron (surprising- I know) and stressed about Ellie and her grueling days of ahead stuck in a cage and Chris stayed strong. And she was not excited about being in a cage. She was meowing tons and trying escape by biting the screen of her cage and piercing the canvas cage with her tooth! After getting her sedatives from the vet, 2 hours later she was finally calming down. We took HWY 80 all the way Chicago and then made it to Sandwich which is a town outside of Aurora where Chris's family friends live. Shocking that I could stay awake enough to drive the first leg of the trip - 5hours. I usually start to get drowsy while driving but I did it! Chris was surprised.
The Conovers met us with busy but open arms on Friday night. After Ellie got settled at the Conover's house and had a small spat with their cat, Baby, we went to Jon's new restuarant, Stonefire. Where we chatted with his friends and listened to some great acoustic singers including Jon!
Saturday consisted of being lazy and planning for the rest of our trip. Stayed tuned!
Thanks for doing this and telling us of your adventures - how cool!!!
