We're on our way!! Our flight was at 6pm (pacific standard) and my mom and I were preparing for a really, really looooong flight on Virgin Atlantic. I have never flown Virgin and so my first question was weather or not they serve food and (surprisingly, they do!). I guess my lack of international travel (other than cheap flights to Mexico) and me being accustom to horribly serviced domestic flights trying to save a quick buck by any means possible led to my surprised reaction. The fact that they are now charging for beverages on flights really makes me believe that anything is possible, even on 10 hour international flights.
The first major event took place in the international terminal of LAX. As we were waiting to board our flight, I noticed a few airport security guards hovering around one of the seat rows of the terminal. Weighed down by what seemed like 25 pounds of amunition and firearms strapped to their belts and rapidly talking into their walkie talkies raised some concerns that maybe we weren't going to be getting on this flight any time soon. Of course my first thought was some sort of terrorist plot but then they brought the dogs out and then I began to wonder if it was some sort of drug bust. Now me being all too familiar with the airport security at LAX, I thought that it could have just been some drunk American pulling some innocent shenanigans leading to a massive army of TSI personnel, aiport anti-terrorist unit and security guards causing all the racous. Anyways, after all the commotion it turned out that someone had left a plastic bag under the seat with a suit jacket. Explained as an unattended bag, security was called by a concerned traveler, thus creating a huge scare at the international terminal of the LAX airport. Thank goodndss it only delayed our flight 30 minutes... Bon Voyage!!
i love it.....
