Day 1
We flew into Anchorage and immediately rented an SUV and drove to the entrance of Denali Nat'l Park. We first loaded up with supplies at Costco and then visited some attractions on the way. It was a long drive and we got in really late but it was worth it when we woke up the next morning. We stayed at the Crow's Nest http://www.denalicrowsnest.com/. Accomodations were good, kind of small and alot of stairs, not the best parking but it was good enough for our group. We didn't want to spend all of our money on lodging.
Day 2
We woke up and went rafting with Denali Outdoor http://www.denalioutdoorcenter.com/rafting.html. It was so much fun, not really scary at all, our guide was very good and competent and we had a great time.
That night we enjoyed the Cabin Nite Dinner Theater Denali http://www.alaskatravel.com/denali-park/dinner-theater-b.html that was also really fun. They serve family style dinner with entertainment. The story is about the first to climb the peaks and settle in Alaska.
Day 3
We woke up really early and took the Denali Park shuttle bus http://alaska.org/denali/shuttle.jsp trip into Denali Park. There is no travel other than park vehicles so it really is the only way to go. We chose the on/off shuttle service, saw LOTS of wild animals and one of our drivers acted as a tour guide. GREAT DAY. We brought in food and picniced and hiked around.
