Panhandle Adventure

It was a long drive from San Antonio to Amarillo but it went quickly with great conversations and lots of laughter. A lot of the trip was not through interstate and we got a chance to drive by many wind energy farms.
















They really broke up the monotany of flat land. Although it was hot, we did get random showers at different points of the drive. Those rain clouds seem to appear out of nowhere!!!














After we arrived and checked in we decided to have dinner at The Big Texan off of I-40 West.













The wait was long but we kept ourselves occupied with plenty of photo - ops and their kitschy Texas Gift Shop.
   









































Luckily our dinner was not a disappointment. My chicken fried steak was DELISH!!! Aida also enjoyed her brisket sandwhich. There were two men who took on the the famous 72 ounce steak challenge while we were there. One guy finished it in the one hour time limit and the other guy didn't but seemed to actually enjoy his meal a lot more.

Needless to say I was exhausted after being the driver for many many hours!!!! I was very happy to crash for the night.
