On Wednesday we spent the day relaxing and exploring at our campsite and on the beach of the state park. After waking up we cooked scrambled eggs and sausage on the grill. It actually was tasty even though we had to use aluminum foil to cook because somebody forgot a pan.....We spent the next hour trying to blow up the rafts that we bought. Luckily Megan was able to do it because I was of no use. Speaking of no use, either was my raft. The child flotation device that I bought was a definite waste of money. Finally we made it down to the beach. We took a walk down the shoreline and climbed up one sand dune. It was the first dune I had ever climbed and I loved it. I wish we could have climbed more dunes during the trip. We did not plunge very deep into the water because of its frigidness. The air was chilly enough let alone the water. We took a break from the beach and went up to the campground to cook hot dogs over the fire. We definitely need some practice on lighting fires. Following lunch we went back down to the beach and played a game of scrabble and then took a long nap in the sun. It was definitely relaxing!!!! Before dinner we decided to take a walk around the campground and check out other campers set-ups and what campgrounds we liked best. If staying at Musekgon State Park lake Michigan Campground we recommend campgrounds 1-8 or 41-49, These camprgounds provided the most area to camp and privacy from the road and other campers. Our walk had to come to an early end because of an incoming thunderstorm. WE walked to the deck and watched the storm blow in off the lake. What an AMAZING sight!!!!! We were able to put all of our supplies away safely before the thunderstorm hit. It stormed pretty bad for a short time, but our tent held up very well. We had pork chops and corn for dinner while listening to the White Sox game on the radio. I was so happy to be able to get 670 the Score all the way in Michigan. For the rest of the night we sat beside the fire, cooked smores, and just enjoyed our last evening at the campground. camping was definitely a success and we can't wait to go again!
