My flight to Orlando was an uneventful one, and I am sitting here on the couch (my bed) with Grandma and Grandpa's dog Tootsie. I slept very well last night, and took grandma to the eye doctor's early this morning. That was about the extent of my adventures today, though I have a lot planned. Starting tomorrow I am going to go to the library, tap in to their internet, and start uploading photosand updating blogs. I need to buy a compatible aentenna first, so I am going to do that in the morning. I also went to take day and night photographs of Orlando, and day photos of Winter Garden. I'll take photos of whatever else I come across or think of. I'm going to stay here a couple weeks at least, so I have plenty of time.
Grandma and Grandpa seem to be doing well, considering their age. Dad has a bad cold so I have not seen much of him. I am not surprised he is ill, considering the squalor he confines himself to.
I already have a batch of postcards to send out tomorrow - most likely my last batch prior to Nicaragua. I am so excited for that trip!! It's hard for me to not focus on it, though I have an entire month of summer to enjoy before before I go. I am going to do as much as I can to enjoy and take advantage of July, as this will be the first July I've had completely off since 2002.
I am going to make the next couple weeks as interesting as possible. Hopefully no one will be bored!
I have been thinking seriously of moving to Orlando/Winter Park but feel as though I would be stuck at home without a car. I am from NYC where it is possible to walk everywhere. Any idea of the best town that is a mini NYC with museums, dance places, theater, group activities. I am not interested in restaurants.
Don't bypass Dunedin! A quaint/unique downtown and surrounding area. Honeymoon Island ($3.00 Fee)and Dunedin Beach on the way there. Eat at Molly Goodheads in Ozona north on A19 to Tampa Road go west to end and right a block or so. Clearwater Beach is always a favorite. Then if you are looking for Italian Food try "Johnnies" on Rt 590 east of US 19. Lived here 33 years migrated from Indiana.
If you are going to FLorida, you have to see St. Petersburg! It's awesome! Oh and see Lakeland too! It has a little histoic distric, but it's not open on Sundays. But it's a realy nice cute little town. They have this huge lake there with a uniquely built wall halfway around it. See that too. Walk around the lake and on the side, you'll see a little secret garden with a gorgeous waterfall area in the back. It's really cute and a fun little town to just be quaint in.
Its a very nice place to visit.
