I spent 15 days in Italy in 2005. Wonderful trip, I planned it all by myself and only got on one wrong train. The trains are wonderful. The countryside is beautiful. Spent 3 days in Rome, 2 in Florence,3 in Sorrento, 3 in Taormina and 3 in Palermo. Can't wait until I can go again. The only thing I was disappointed in was their star rating of hotels. 3-star hotels in Italy are like 1-star hotels in the USA. I soon ended up in 4 and 5 star hotels. Can't wait.

I've been to italy and sicily 3 times with my wife and i love it, love it, love it!

My problem is I can't aford any more trips, I am completely broke!
But i recommend it highly!
It is great!

We enjoyed a similar trip as a cruise excursion and have talked of returning to do it ourselves. We enjoyed your driving input; good to know the Amafi coast can be driven successfully by tourists.
