Hello to everyone that might be checking out the page to see what the hell im up to while im over here. I just wanted to write down some quick thoughts, and give some 411 on things we are up to. I am not sure how my internet access will be on a day to day basis, as im going to different locations. The hotel we are staying at in London is very nice, and offers free internet.. Thanks to parham for the laptop.
So Day 1 -
The flight wasnt too bad, but it wasnt too good either. Luckily I was able to get two seats to myself agaisnt the window, so space was awesome... Sleeping on a plane.. not so awesome haha. I did get 3.5 hours of sleep though, so better then none. Plane food, not so filling. So once I arrived in London, met up with Parham in Baggage claim, and made it through imigration...
So we took the Gatwick express, which is a 30 min train ride into the city. Pretty fast and great. Then we took the tube to the hotel, which was more of a journy, as we took the wrong one at first, but was able to get off and then jump on to the correct one.. Though it was hella delayed... Finally we make it to the hotel, check-in cool upgrade yes. nice room. Right next to the station (Liverpool street for those tracking at home). So we get upstairs take our time, and get out on the city much later in the afternoon then we thought. Thus the boat cruise was off!
We grabbed some lunch at this Asian place, which is good. Not so bad on price 7.5 GBP (15 USD). Then we B-Lined it to Hyde park. Hyde park was great, they were having a Nelson Mandela concert so there were thousands of people flocking to the park. We walked around soaked it in, took some pics. Much cooler and nicer then Central park.. From there we walked our arse all the way up Picadilly road up to Picadilly Circus (like time square) Stopping along the way to take pictures, and throw down some Chai Lattees. From there we simply took the tube to another area of london (older bulidings) to take som pics and walk around.. Finally around 7pm make it back to the hotel.
After a much needed nap and shower... We were ready to conquer the night. It started by heading over to the Absolut Ice Bar... BTW people if you want to do ANYTHING here, get a reservation.. esp for the clubs i guess ill explain later, but make a reservation, buy your tix in advance... no joke.. So we had 1145 reservation, and were able to put on some cool coats they had and pile into a freezer, and drink at an all ICE BAR.. our cups were made out of ice, and we had a drink or two in there.. 15 GBP to get in, free drink included.. Was cool, have plenty of pics...
After that we bounced around a lot, and finally ended up in a club, after realzing that we were not getting into one of the major clubs, as we didnt have tix, nor felt like waiting 1.5 hours in line?! WTF? no thx..
Anyways, thats day one. Getting ready to head out for day 2.
