Sojourn

Arrived LAX after cramped flight in economy class on Qantas. Customs very slow, caught yellow cab taxi to hotel in Best Western Gateway Santa Monica cost about US$33. Temperature in the 80's. Hotel tired looking but friendly and some good free extras with room rate, room rate US$189 per night. Gym ok with about 5 machines.Took a walk to Santa Monica pier and Santa Monica shops, was a much longer walk than it looked on the map, Police everywhere. Santa Monica beach huge and empty. That evening ate at a restaurant east of the hotel within a two block walk on the left cant remember the name but very nice with dude playing piano in the corner.
