Punto Fijo's Times
Dear Reader Day 2:
Summary of events of the day: arrived at Madrid, Spain, took metro, I went to the Centro, lunch, dinner and bar.
The pilot’s name was Richard, really nice guy from Trinidad and Tobago. He is going to Spain besides for work but also to show the place to his mom. Lucky her, she was in first-class.
Got in the airport and got my luggage. Now imagine me by myself in a new country to explore and carrying two wheeled luggages. I was scared because I still think I would have been an easy target to steal from, but thanks God everything went right.
It was a nice metro, interesting fact about it: u needed to press a button for the doors to open. Another thing is that there were a lot of stairs to get from one terminal to the next, so it was really tiring caring my luggage up and down, but anyway. Ah almost got into the wrong subway, thanks God I ask. There were all sorts of people in the train [?], different people from NYC and nicer train than NYC of course. Easy to used map as in NYC. How about compared to HK? There are more sits in the HK’s sub than in the Madrid one, again different people.
Got out of the sub and I was trying to figure out how to find the hostel. “It was like a maze” by Mency Buendicho. I asked twice and walked in circle before finding it. Funny thing: the hostel was in the third floor and I did not see the elevator because it was next to the stairs and it was red [it looks like another door instead of an elevator] [I was not the only who missed it, Mency and Santiago [Santi] also missed it]. So carried my luggage up to the third floor, flicking tired!
The hostel was a cute guy from a university lol [Cesar]. Interestingly there was only one-bed room for two for the first night, ohh it is really a small thing [pics later]
Tip for next flight: ask about outlets. I totally forgot about it and thanks to Cesar part of the problem was solved. Took a nice shower, it was so cool after a long trip. I just went out and figure a place to eat. I ate Kabed [pics later], it was alright, quite expensive [I guess because we are staying in the Centro] but nice manager, he gave me a free soft drink.
Went I went to buy an outlet converter, I could not find the store [so kinda frustrating, oh well]. Got a bottle of water from an Asian store. I was so tired that I first talked to them in English then Spanish and then Chinese but either way she was not interested on talking to me [I guess].
After a long walked through in Centro, went back to the hostel [tripped through the door when someone opened for me :-P] and took a nap till Mency woke me up.
I met Santi, really nice guy and his friend Daniel [Dani]. Nice people. We went out for dinner [pics later]. Loved the food + sangria lol. Again tripped going to the “Servicios” = restrooms = banos. Then we all went to a bar and chat and meet Santi’s friends.
Corona [the Mexican beer] is called Coronita here because there is alright another branch with the name Corona.
[Can’t remember right now all the funny things I was going to write ohh well]
Mency is sleep now and I am falling sleep too so going to bed now and hopefully I can remember some and update a little bit about this entry, night peace out.
