Mom and I took Ashley to NYC for her 16th birthday present. Mom as the financial backer and me as the tour guide!!
This was Ashley's first plane ride!!
We arrived in NY to find a white stretched limo waiting on us. My aunts had paid for it as a belated birthday present for Ashley and I had set it all up. I didn't tell mom or Ashley about it and they were pretty surprised. They didn't believe me when I told them it was there to pick us up. Talk about travelling in style!!!
What a much nicer ride than a NYC cab!!!
Ashley cruising in her very own limo!!
After dropping our luggage off at the hotel, we took the subway to Ground zero. There was alot construction going on so it was hard to see much of anything.
This cross used to stand at the sight of the twin towers but it has been moved to this new location while construction is ongoing.
We walked south through Wall Street on our way down to Battery Park. We had reservations to go into the Statue of Liberty at 1:30. After picking up our tickets, we grabbed a bite to eat at Burger King. Ashley has a very limited diet and plain hamburgers are on the list!!!
Mom bought Ashley this hat and as soon as we got onto the ferry she realized she lost it already!! Way to go!! She will never live that down. Good thing we already had pictures of it!
All of us on Liberty Island.
After a tour of the museum in the base of the Statue, we took pictures of the skyline and Lady Liberty herself. We had great weather!!
After leaving Ellis Island and returning back to Battery Park, we headed north to the Empire State Building.
One of our many trips on the subway!!
We did the NY skyride and then made our way to the top of the Empire State Building.

What a long day we had had. We headed back to the hotel to check in and chill for awhile. We were upgraded to a club room so we got free hor dourves!! Sweet! After we rested for awhile, Ashley and I headed to Times Square.
We wandered around Times Square collecting food, pizza, garlic knots, and cheesecake for me and mom and McDonald's for Ashley, then headed back to the room to eat. Mom was out like a light and Ashley and I stayed up and looked at maps of NY to make a plan for the next day.
