Exploring Greater Lafayette

A trip from May 29, 2008 to August 15, 2008
I realized recently that this coming Fall 2008, I will … More
I realized recently that this coming Fall 2008, I will be a junior at Purdue, and I haven't really explored the city around me. Everyone always says "there is nothing to do in West Lafayette!" and I've always thought that to be true. Coming from New England, I always had stuff to do and I'm getting bored with just drinking with friends every weekend. I'm going to spend my summer exploring Lafayette and West Lafayette, and find fun activities, eat in restaurants, and just get out of my chlostrophobic apartment.

Embarking on the Tippecanoe Journey!

Okay, so it's 1:30am, my dog is snoring next to me and my boyfriend is playing nintendo in the next room. All I can think about is how hyped up I am about the art museum and the BBQ restaurant that I plan to go to in just a few hours. I had no idea Lafayette even HAD an art museum, or a BBQ restaurant that served both Carolina and Kansas City style BBQ (I looked at the menu online already). I've seen nothing but great reviews of this place and I'm super excited to try it out. What caught my eye on the menu really wasn't the delicious sounding brisket, or mouth watering brunswick stew...but the prices. For a BBQ restaurant that got such incredibile reviews, their menu items are incredibly cheap! The majority of the food is under $7.00, which is SO affordable for a college student...I mean, that's less than two drinks at a bar! Anyway, I'll write about my experience tomorrow and give the museum and restaurant a rating and review. But for now, I've got to try and get some sleep!
