Day 1

ImagePro Football Hall of Fame

We started out early and headed toward Canton, Ohio. It took us a little over 5 hours and we left around 6am. I promised we would not be getting up that early for the rest of the vacation and we didn't.  The Hall of Fame itself is right off the highway. The people there were really friendly and you can take as many pictures as you want and even bring in a video camera. They gave us free gifts too. We got the HALL PASS, which is a discounted ticket price that includes the Rock and Roll Hall of fame. So it was a 8 dollar discount overall for both of us. The Hall of Fame itself has many levels and many video areas. They have the Superbowl rings on display which are pretty cool. You can see the diamonds on the rings increasing as you lead up to the current year. The Patriots rings were the best by far. The room where they have all the busts is great as well. We took pictures of our Redskins like Joe Gibbs and John Riggins. They have many great items of NFL History and it was cool to see all the neat jerseys, cleats, etc. They even did little presentations and brought out old helmets, and stuff from the AFL. Overall, I would recommend for any football fan to visit at least once.

A Christmas Story House

We headed toward Cleveland and found the house. Quite honestly, it is in a seedy nImageeighborhood. The house kind of stood out among the other ones due to the green paint and how new it looked in relation to the others. So we paid and got mixed in with some other folks from around the US.  I was a bit disappointed with this experience. The guide told us how most of the movie was shot in Canada and I personally had a hard time matching up parts of the movie with the house. The guide didn't explain much in the house just let us kind of wander around. The museum across the street was okay, but nothing special. I wouldn't personally recommend it.

After a long day of driving we checked in to our hotel right outside of Cleveland in Middelburg Heights. There was a mall and a bunch of places to eat. We ate at Red Lobster to kick off the vacation in style with a little Seafood and then walked through the mall a bit.

Yes Lou's pizza in Chicago is pretty darn famous! There are a few suburban locations. Its our Saturday night pizza! There is some great shopping out in Schaumburg. At once time in the 70's it used to be the nations largest mall. Look it up...Woodfield mall. You missed out on the museums and the White Sox though :*
