Pretrip and arriving

--- Day 0

Although I'm living for big overseas trip which begins in one day, nothing is really prepared. I'm having a hard time with bringing my college stuff to some kind of temporary ending So I barely have time for anything else. Or that's how it should be. :) The truth is that I still haven't actually packed anything but I have stolen numerous hours which I should spent programming to read about destinations we are going to visit. And more I read, badly I want to take off. But I can't help myself, I'm such a geek which has to be well informed about everything. :) So, here is the story: my parents and their friends from golf club had this new brilliant idea, they decided to play golf in Toronto (I'd say you can find a meadow and dig some holes in our backyard and don't have to go overseas for that, but what I know, I only play minigolf :). But, the good thing is that their trip was set to dates when I can survive to be absent from college so they didn't have to talk me much into going with them. Our main destination is Toronto, but we are planning shorter trips to Buffalo, Detroit and Niagara Falls and more ambitiously, to Ottawa and Montreal, but I think there won't be really time for everything. If they asked me, we would go to half of North America but you know how older people are, especially when you give them golf clubs. :) Just kidding, I'm looking forward for chance of having my own little competition when they hit the golf courts - race through the shopping malls. :) So, hope that packing and trip will went smoothly and can't wait for my second entry cause I know it'll be from a beautiful room overlooking Toronto.

---Day 1

*Drums* So, we have arrived. It wasn't simple nor short, but it was for me quite interesting and pretty enjoyable trip. First phase: flying from Zagreb to Paris in a little plane in which we were still sleepy and which seemed even smaller and funnier when we boarded to big boeing 747 at charles de gaulle. Of course, we were in hurry, as always, and once again I didn't have a chance to visit those tempting duty free shops at  the airport. But, everything, including the flight, went really smoothly and I was really enthusiastic about every detail during the flight, it really doesn't take much to make me happy - you have to just put me on the plane and let me fly somewhere. I enjoyed the food (who ever told such a lie that plane food sucks?), champagne aperitif, french cooking (it was, after all, air france flight) and I was happy like a little kid when I got my flying kit which included earplugs, that-thing-that-you-put-over-you-eyes-when-you-want-to-sleep and some other stuff. And I got the chance to look at "My  blueberry nights" which I wanted since forever. So, the long flight was quite a nice expirience for me, if I had some more room for sleeping I almost wouldn't want to leave it. Almost, I said. :) So, we arrived, passed numerous checks and were finally  at our destination welcomed by our hosts. And the first impression is: everything is so wide and there is so much space. You feel like you can breath and run and live although you are sourrouned by huge buildings, I don't remember seeing anything like that, anywhere. And Mississauga, where our hotel is and for which I though it's just a suburb of Toronto turned out to be a 6th biggest city in Canada with 800000 people. :) So, hotel is cute and has two things of my  particular interest: indoor swimming pool (finally I'm in hotel with it :) and the biggest shopping mall in Canada nearby (my friend sayed that they will film a movie called "Mateja in paradise" about that situation). And, I can't close upwithout writing about beautiful dinner which our Canadian friends made for us in their astonishing house which looks like it came right out of the Dynasty and should be found in some design and architecture look-books, in my opinion. I hope I didn't drewl too much on their floor, I was just amazed. And, they actually liveby the wood and have this squirrel which is regular visitor and almost like a pet. So, after all that and staying up for 24 hours sleep is all that I can think of with black dots dancing in front of my eyes.
