Today was a very busy day. My flight was scheduled to depart from Houston Hobby airport at 530am. I know....why did I schedule my flight so early? Well I really had no other options, and besides, I wanted to have as much time in Puerto Rico as possible!
I really had a lot of trouble deciding what to pack. I looked on several websites, asked tons of friends, and finally I decided on a few swimsuits, sundresses, pair of shorts, capris, flip flops and 1 pair of jeans. I spent all evening yesterday running around trying to get last minute waxing, shopping, and work done.
Finally I went to sleep at midnight, only to trun around and wake up at 3am to frantically finish packing! Rushing out of the door at almost 415 for a 30 minute car ride to the airport, I was almost certain I was going to miss my flight!
I checked in online via my PDA while riding to the airport, and fortunately made it just in time to hurry through security and to the gate.
The plane ride was fine, they offered the usual beverage, and I was quite comfortable on this first leg since I had an aisle seat. The only negative moment would have been the two kids that were flying for the first time, and smelled as if they didn't believe baths were a necessity for travel!
I arrived in Atlanta a short two hours later, and settled in for a 3 hour layover. This went well except for the fact that I spent the whole time talking on my cell phone to my boyfriend. By the time it was getting close to boarding time, I had pretty much depleted my entire battery, and my charger was in my checked luggage! (Lesson Learned..)
So I look at my boarding pass again, verify that it does say gate C21 ( I am at C17). I walk towards the gate and overhear them calling for passengers on a flight to Las Vegas. I started thinking that maybe my flight is delayed so I go to the screne to check it out. Gladly I find that my flight is not delayed, but that it is at gate B6!
I rush over to the next terminal and find that they have finished boarding! I yell, "wait! I'm on that flight!" They let me board, and all is well...
