I had waited about 3 weeks for this and I was soooo excited!! Joe wanted to take Kathy for her birthday (May 11) and surprise her. We set it up for Saturday the 3rd but it turned out to be cloudy and windy all day so we rescheduled it till Sunday.
Kathy had no idea where we were going. Joe just told her to wear comfortable clothes. When we turned off the interstate, she saw this sign and she knew!!
We were all so excited and Kathy didn't even hesitate. We weren't sure how she would react. We signed our life away and watched a 20 minute training video and then we waited and waited and waited...... did I mention waited?
They were extremely busy and they only had two smaller planes taking people up. It was a gorgeous, sunny day out!
Birthday girl got to go first!! Here she is getting all suited up!!
Kathy and Joe before her jump!
She is all smiles afterwards!!!
I am next!! The nerves kicked in when Kathy was getting suited up but once it was my turn I was ready to go!!!
Me and my "crew" climbing into the plane. Not much room to move in there!
Jeff and I exiting the airplane at 12,000 feet!!
We did a barrel roll coming out of the plane! It was soo cool!
What a rush!!!
Poor Jeff had to fight with my hair all the way down! I thought I would have a helmet on but I guess what good would a helmet do me, really!
It is about time to pull the ripcord!!
Thankfully, the harness held me although my legs were sore the next day.
Nice, smooth landing!!
Jeff and I after the jump! I'M ALIVE!!! and ready to do it again!
Kathy was mad because she wanted a hot, young guy strapped to her back since it was her birthday but I got him instead!!
Last but not least, it is Joe's turn
He loved every minute of it except for those 360's Kathy set him up with. I guess it was payback for surprising her!!
He looks ready to go again minus the 360's!!
Kathy and Joe at the end of the day! What a great birthday present this turned out to be!! Thanks for including me!!!
