Day One(traveling time) and Two

Wow!  Okay, here I am in Maine.  I flew out Monday night out of Monterey.  Three plane flights later I was in Portland, Maine getting picked up by my mother and aunt.

The first flight was only 35 minutes are so on a prop plane.  It was so loud and the whole thing vibrated but since it was so short it was okay.  The second flight was in a HUGE plane...the kind with two rows of two seats on each side and then three seats in the middle.  I got three seats all to myself so that was pretty cool.  It was going really well, the plane was so big I didn't feel like I was really on a plane.  I was able to lay down and and I dozed in and out...I probably got about a total of an hours sleep in ten minute increments.  About an hour before we were going to land(I thought it was more like two hours at the time) the plane started to get tossed around pretty bad.  The only announcements that were made were for the seat belts to be fastened and for the flight attendants to take their seats.  That was it.  When looking out the windows all you could see was what appeared to be smoke and the flashing blue and red lights on the wings of the plane.  Now, I know I am a bit of a drama queen but I swear I thought we were going down.  I've never experienced turbulance that bad in my life and there were no announcements, just all the radio/movies that were playing were promptly shut off and none of our overhead lights would go on.

We finally landed with no more announcements...I was grateful to be on the ground but I wasn't able to stop my body from shaking for about an hour or so.  When we were safe on the tarmac the pilot came on and apologized for the "rough ride" and said that there was no other way to get into the airport.  That is all well and good but at least tell us that we are decending!!!  Let us know it's going to be bumpy so I don't sit there thinking we are making an emergency landing because the plane is on fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man that was so hard to get on the third and final plane.  At least I knew that it would be bumpy heading out Imageand at least it was light out at that point.

Safe in Portland I picked up my bag and met my mom and aunt outside.  Lee(my aunt) drove us back to her place where mom's car was parked.  We stayed there for a little bit and shot the breeze before heading out for mom's house.

At this point I had been up for 24 hours and was a big sweaty, loopy mess.  I sat down and didn't want to get up.  Mom went off to get us Red Barn for lunch(a little mom and pop place just down the street from my mom's house that we used to eat from quite often when I lived here) and I vegged in the recliner and watched TV.

After we ate I was hemming and hawwing about whether I wanted to go out and get mom's laptop and I realized I had the Carmel Valley mentality going on.  At home, when I get there, knowing that it takes a good 45 minutes to get to a town where there are big stores makes me want to put things off.  Mom has a walmart like five minutes from her house so we boogied on over to the staples in that mall and got her a laptop.  Then we headed to walmart and got some groceries and I got some PJ bottoms since it was cooler here than I thought it was going to be.

We drove around for a little while, mom showing me how big Augusta has gotten and how much has changed.

At home I finally showered and tried to set up mom's laptop, then I realized I had been awake for about 36 hours so I ate some leftovers and went to bed.  I had the best intentions of reading but after a couple of texts to Rob I was out like a freaking light.
