What a day this was! Our day began at 3:50am, eastern standard time and did not end till 10pm Pacific standard time. We were up all day!!! Luckily we were departing from MIA (Miami International Airport). We got there in about 15 minutes from my house. Anywho, I was wired. I haven't been able to eat or sleep all week so I had no problem waking up. Bert on the other hand hardly slept at home so he could try to sleep on the plane. We originally were set to arrive in San Francisco but had a slight change to arrive in San Jose. We were quickly boarded on the first flight arriving in Atlanta, GA. We took a nap to make time fly faster. As soon as our plane arrived we headed to our gate that was in destination to SJ, CA, which was right around the corner from our exiting gate. :) Unfortunately that didnt give us much time to get anything to eat. After ten minutes of gathering our carry ons and trying to see what we could take with us, it was already time to board the plane. What a long flight! It took us about 4 1/2 hours to get there. We ended up sitting behind each other. The flight went well despite the temper tantrum throwing child in front of Bert so it was difficult to take naps. But we managed to somewhat rest. We finally get to SJ Airport and look for our luggage when we come to find that one of our bags was torn...off to get a new bag. Don't know if it got caught in the conveyor belt or someone was after my new paper & denim jeans. Who knows. :) We rented a beeauutiful mustang convertible. I will take pictures soon. We had Round Table Pizza before heading to the hotel it was delicious, especially after the whole time change throwing us off and being rather hungry. The hotel is beautiful. The last one we stayed in while we were here had a better evening menu that this one so we'll probably try out the breakfast tomorrow and see if we like it. If not its off to the city for breakfast. For dinner we had a local chain called Armadillo Willy's Texas BBQ lol. Its was pretty good. We both had the pulled pork and french fries. After taking the wrong turn to Alburqurque trying to find ice cream (ending up in Alameda) we headed back for the hotel for some ZZZZzzzzzzzzzz. Lots of them. More to come! :)
I think you picked a great time to visit the Bay Area (just after a short heat wave :). I'm a native of San Francisco (now live in the East Bay). I didn't see Golden Gate Park in your itinerary, hopefully you get there and get to see everything. Too bad the Steinhart Aquarium/Academy of Sciences isn't reopened yet, but the DeYoung Museum is open. You should be sure to see the Conservatory of Flowers (in a Victorian era greenhouse), the Strybing Arboretum, and the Japanese Tea Garden. For an excellent view of the Golden Gate Bridge, drive up to the Palace of the Legion of Honor at Lincoln Park, one of my favorite views in SF. Also the Presideo is a nice drive. I could go on, but you'd run out of time!!
LOL! tell me about it, we did a lot compared to when we went 2 years ago. I'll update my list soon. i thought i could do so while i was there buuuut....i didnt have the time.
