Thing to Do

Just a few more hours til we leave town!! Yea!!!! I am so excited!!
I have done laundry all day, not because I needed to but, to keep busy till bedtime... Umm I guess I'll tone it down a bit since we have not even left yet!! I feel like a little kid waiting for Santa to show up!! LOL
I can NOT wait to see Johnson Space Center!!!
Till next time....
"The Way Too Eager Traveling Companion" LOL Angel
I left all the missions, churches and the bingo parlors. I left the Alamo, Texas State Cemetary, Treaty Oak,Stevie Ray Vaughn Statue and The Tower of The Americas because if left to me these would be like 10-15 minute stops.
The Things I REALLY want to see are...
SAN JACINTO-- The Texas Battleship. I can live with just takeing a few photos of the battle ground at San Jacinto and skipping the museum if you like. I do not really care about the other things to do there. And if need be we can skip it all together and go straight to Houston. (There are battleships and subs in Galveston.) So that is between you and Bryan to decide if we stop there.
HOUSTON-- I really want to see NASA/ Johnson Space Center. The Museum of Natural Science has dinosaur bone that sound much larger than the bone in the FTW museum. I would like to see that as well. Even though I am interested in the Holocaust Museum I am willing to forgo it because I do not think Bry wants to think of such things, so on that YOU (LOL) are the deciding vote again that is between you and Bry to figure out, I will live either way. (I just might have to go back to Houston sometime to see it.. Oh what a miserable idea... (LOL) Just kidding all you Houstonians out there, and anyone else who might not get the idea that I was kidding. I mean no disrespect to anyone who might have gone through it.) Other than those three (maybe two) things I am at your mercy in all other endeavers and activities in Houston.
GALVESTON-- I want to see the Gulf of Mexico (I would rather see to ocean, but that will have to wait till next time I guess. Better this way and not the other so I will not be disappointed that the Gulf is not as large.. (Umm... can you see the land across the way, however faint?) Texas Seaport Museum and Elissa, that is the 1877 Tall ship you can get a day long ticket and tour the ship and the museums or something. Seawolf Park is where the battleship and the submarine are located. You can tour them, though I am not clear on if it is guided or not. (I suppose it would be though) Moody Gardens has a Discovery Pyramid that has a Titanic memrobilia exhibit that I have seen before (I think) but was so impressed that I would like to see it again. (Do not have to though it you think it is too macabre. i have mixed emotions about it) The Lone Star Flight museum is for Bryan. I do not even think he knows about it yet, as he (to my knowledge has not looked at anything on this page that have not brought to his attention.) Again between you and Bry, I am sure it is interesting to him.. (LOL I will go though, I will follow you guys anywhere. LOL)
Ok at this point it is up to you if we hang out in Houston for a few days (Maybe see Molly and "Tex"... what IS his name? I do not think I ever heard it) or if we go on to the second leg of the journey.
SAN ANTONIO-- I am totally flexible on Day 4. If we do go I would like to see the Witte museum and Ripleys. I would like to have my picture taken in front of the Alamo (tour it if you feel like answering a bazillion questions. LOL) Umm... I would like to walk along the River Walk with Bryan after dinner. If you wanted to walk too we could go earlier with you then sneak off later.. (sorry..LOL)
AUSTIN-- The Austin Ghost tour looks promising. The Treaty Oak, Stevie Ray Vaughn statue and Texas State Cemetary are places I would like to visit. These places would take up about 10-15 minutes each. Maybe!! I could not find out much about the cemetary except there are two girders/steel beams from the Ground Zero that were taken exactly the way they were and put in the cemetary in a touching monument to the Texans who died there. It looks very pretty and heartbreaking in the picture I found. Oh yeah and there are famous people buried there too. (I do not know who, as navigating their web site was less than satisfactory)
Hope this helps you decide where we end up going.
Incidentally-- The other trip we talked about is 2000.43 miles and 31 hours round trip no stops, no traffic. It is on this website also, under My Trips, Graceland+. You can see on there what there is to do..
