Day 1(Arriving)

Today we made the drive from DC to NY.  A crazy drive to say the least.  I was still very upset when we left home because of a fight I had with my husband.  The fight that made me take this trip.  We started out late,  we were supposed to depart my house @ 10am...... well dealing with my niece,  that didn't happen.  She is one of theee slowest people in the world.  My mother always tells her she's gonna be late for her own funeral. lol.  But anyway,  we hit the road about 11:15,  and before we could even get on New York Ave,  the kids started talking about they were hungry... go figure. lol.  So we stopped and had KFC for lunch (shot out to the cashier who hooked us up with some extra chicken and a free order of potato wedges. lol.  I wont mention your name because I know you need your job baby.)

Anyway after an unscheduled stop for chicken we Finally waved goodbye to DC @ noon,  Guarnteeing me a run in with traffic somewhere. lol,  and we did,  but it wasn't too bad.   We arrived @ our hotel (Crowne Plaza Fairfield) about 5pm.  1st, they couldn't find my reservations so I was ready to go completely off,  then my BFF who was coming down from Buffalo called me and happen to mention that the reservations were under my maiden name (she made them),  so that saved the front desk attendent from recieving a vicious tounge lashing. lol

Once we finally got checked in and settled in our rooms,  my BFF called to tell me she was lost (I think she is one of the only people I know who doesn't have GPS in her car)  so as tired as I was, me and the kids made our way into the city to FIND her.  We finally located her and we decided to get something to eat before going back to the hotel.  So we dropped in on Presidential Pizza  and I had THEE best pizza I have had in life so far.  We also were lucky enough to finish our dinner just in time to see we weren't too far from the Sean John store.  Now me or my kids are not fans of the clothing line,  but we were in need of a few "No BytchAssNess"  t shirts.  So we went and brought a few (I got 3 in different colors).

Once we finally made it back to our hotel, I was past tired and ready to call it a night.... but the kids weren't.  So while me and my BFF and my baby got settled in our room,  the kids had a ball with the indoor swimming pool (I am so glad they are teens and don't need me to be at their side every second,  but they did have an adult with them,  my niece is 19, so I was so glad she decided to come along with us).

After my shower me and my BFF played catch up (I miss her so much since she's been living in Buffalo) and I filled her in on all the drama surrounding my leaving for this trip (it's waayyy too personal to share in this journal. lol).  After we got caught up on what was going on in each others lives, we both were calling hogs, along with my 6month old daughter.  I had some much needed peaceful uninterrupted sleep for the 1st time in a looooong time.

So day 1 turned out to be pretty nice.
