Tue 04/01/08 (day 1)

Preparations for our biggest trip

Well, we still have a week to go and still a lot of packing to do. You never really realize how much stuff you have until is time to put it away! Even though this is going to be a long trip with 3 kids and 2 dogs, I am looking foward to getting started with the driving part. Just knowing that my final destination is going to be my own home, not a rental, not base housing, MY OWN HOME!!!

OMG the time has come to leave good ole HaveNot!!! I have to say I do not miss my house nor NC but the people made it hard to leave. We have only 10 month left here, don't know our destiny but if it was up to me I would stay here.

Good luck driving, did you guys decide to take the scenic route? Yuma is off 1-10. When we drove (and that had been many times) we drove and stayed in Montgomery Alabama, Houston (my momma lives there), stayed in El Paso and then to Cali but it would be shorter for you if you are going to Yuma. Have fun hope to see you soon, I am planning on going home (Texas) for 6 weeks maybe I can trip out there and go to San Diego too. Let me know if you will be going through Houston!!!

Do you arrive today? Or tomorrow? I'm confused. Didn't see a write up from Texas so ... But yeah! How exciting for you guys! Looking forward to seeing you, the kids, the new house and yes even Niner - next weekend. Be there Saturday/Sunday instead though. Hope that still works. Will send you an email.
