After picking up your rental car, head straight for Mt. Hood on the Old Columbia River highway. On your left, you will see the Columbia River , one of the biggest, deepest and fastest rivers in the world. There are also many beautiful waterfalls. The most famous is Multnomah Falls, which is the 2^nd highest in the US .

When you reach The Dalles, turn South and head for Mt. Hood. It is Oregon's largest mountain and often compared to Mt. Fuji (12,000 feet). In fact, they are the 2 most climbed mountains in the world. You can drive 1/2 way up Mt. Hood to Timberline Ski Lodge. This is one of the only places in the world where you can ski all year. They also have great food.
