We started in Nusa Dua an stayed at the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel. It was extremely nice and very well priced!
Nusa Dua is a little far from Kuta, where a lot of people stay, but we enjoyed the beaches and vibe better. But there's not much to do after dark.
this was the view from our hotel lobby. PARADISE!

This is the view from Uluwatu Temple. A MUST SEE! It was only a half hour or so taxi ride from Nusa Dua. There were Monkey's everywhere!

Jimbaran Bay is a must see. They have restuarants all along the beach and your table is ON the sand. They have the most amazing sunsets in Bali. Definitely plan a dinner there!

The first half or the week we stayed in Nusa Dua. For the second half, we took an hour taxi ride to Ubud. Inland from the beaches, but something that should not be missed. We stayed at the Bali Spirit Hotel in Ubud. Not as fancy as our first resort, but it was very nice. We loved it.

Ubud has a ton of good shopping and lots of stalls to walk around and see and lots of temples and restuarants. There's a ton to do.
The food is amazing, this is Mie Goreng, a traditional Indonesian noodle dish.

A temple in Ubud not to be missed is The Goah Gajah Elephant Caves. The grounds around the temple are beautiful.

We also took an elephant ride! The tour company sent a car to pick us up at our hotel for a very low price!

And one of the highlights of our trip was meeting Ketut Liyer, the medicine man featured in the book (and now movie!) "Eat, Pray, Love." Ask any cab driver in Ubud to take you to see Ketut Liyer, and they will drive you right there! We told a cab driver we wanted to see him and was at his front door minutes later! He gives very lovely palm readings and will tell your future. In this picture, he is holding up a copy of the book "Eat, Pray, Love" signed to him by the author.
