We set out at 2pm. After loading up the car with our luggage and a huge bag of snacks. Do you think we had enough?
But it's raining here and we are looking forward to some fun in the sun. So we set out, our first state is Indiana. And you guessed it, it's raining there to, we hit Indianapolis at the start of rush hour, so it's a little hectic, but luckily it was just the start of it and we fly right through. After Indiana is Kentucky, and more rain. Kentucky seems to go faster than Indiana, but we were still there for a while. We decided to stop for dinner at a Sonic. We were a little disapointed with there food, the commercials make it look very appealing, but in reality it's not.
Were off again, approaching the Tennessee border we know we have to stop again, my husband hates Tennesee and said that we can not stop anytime while in that state. So we stop at the border, fill up, use the bathroom, and stretch our legs. We know it's going to be a long stretch of 300 miles. Luckily it's late and not much traffic.
Now we are entering Georgia, our longest state to travel through. By 4:30 am we are exhausted, having driven for 14 hrs and some of us being up for nearly 24 hrs we decided we needed to stop and rest. So we began looking for a hotel. We checked in at 5 am and slept till 9:30 am. Now we are only 400 miles or so from Orlando and ready to be there. But of course it is still raining and a lot of traffic, so traveling fast wasn't an option. We also came across a few accidents and a lot of construction. At one point the rain got so bad the highway was flooding and we were traveling at about 40mph.
